Happy Valentine’s Day! 😉 ❤
Don’t underestimate the small things.
My daughter got a hair cut last week. She had a lot of hair… It crossed my mind to look into donating it. We discussed it and she liked the idea so after the cut we sent in her14 inch-long ponytail to Beautiful Length. For her, what she did wasn’t a big deal. I mean the hair would have fallen on the salon floor, been swept up and disposed of…probably to the garbage. But for someone who receives the real-hair wig that this ponytail went in (it takes 8 to 15 of them to make one wig) it is likely a huge deal.
You know though, a lot of things in life are like that!
They are out there! I know they are…but there are moments that it seems I’m the only one who is overly passionate about the power of art, the arts and creativity. I nearly stood up and cheered when I read Heidi Easley’s newsletter that showed up in my inbox this morning. My heart is full. ❤ 🙂
Thank you for making 2015 so great! I have meet many of you in person and have connected with tons of you via email, FB, etc. I am so glad that our paths have crossed and am excited about 2016.
I wanted to take a minute and reflect on what I learned this year and how it can help you.
At each event I meet new people and learn new things. The common thread among every event is the healing power of art. …click to read more…
Have you tried colouring?
Yeah, sure, maybe when you were a kid…but I mean lately. Or perhaps you ARE one of those hip and trendy people with your favourite colouring book(s), pencils, markers, etc. and partake often.
I confess, I haven’t done it much until recently. And I even got a colouring book to do it in. I wasn’t that surprised but I found what has been said about it to be true…it was relaxing. In some respects it was even more relaxing than my own painting.
If you’re not sure and don’t want to invest in a colouring book you can search online for colouring pages and even download many of them for free. Give it a try! It comes with benefits… 🙂
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that’s probably true.
During my art class a couple weeks ago there was another event taking place in the building at the same time and a couple of the fellows were gracious enough to help me clean up. One of them commented “Wow”. It wasn’t wow, how nice or beautiful but more along the lines of wow, what a mess. And from a certain stand point it was a mess…but it was a beautiful mess.
